What is the 'Dew Point' in coating application?

Question

What is the 'Dew Point' in coating application?

Expert Answer
The Dew Point is the temperature at which moisture condenses from the air onto a surface. If the substrate temperature is at or below the dew point, a thin film of water forms, which will prevent resin coatings from bonding. We always ensure the substrate is at least 3°C above the dew point before applying any materials to ensure a secure bond.
