How do you repair a leaking diaphragm wall?

Question

How do you repair a leaking diaphragm wall?

Expert Answer
Diaphragm walls (D-walls) often leak at the vertical joints between panels. Repairing them requires deep injection using long packers to reach the center of the wall. We typically use a hydrophilic acrylic or PU resin that can travel along the water path. In severe cases, we may use curtain injection behind the joint to seal the water source. Surface sealing alone usually fails due to the high hydrostatic pressure in deep D-wall basements.
